[B]Al-Aqsa Wrecking: Possible? (Part 1) *
By Dr. Ragheb El-Sergany
Assistant Professor of urology — Egypt
During recent weeks, the issue of Al-Aqsa captured the attention of Muslims and generated the public discussion of many serious related questions. The most important questions were, Whether it is likely that Al-Aqsa Mosque will be wrecked? Why do Jews wage such a huge propaganda campaign regarding their intention to wreck Al-Aqsa Mosque if they are really serious? Which method is more effective in destroying Al-Aqsa: digging tunnels under it or simply bombing it out even by tanks? What is expected to happen in case Al-Aqsa is actually destroyed?
Undoubtedly, that the answer to such critical and serious questions may have the effect of enlightening us about the nature of the current stage of history and that of Jews, as well as the characteristics of the generation that will liberate Al-Aqsa.
Wrecking Al-Aqsa is in fact an action that would lead to tremendous repercussions that would have more negative than positive effects on Jews themselves. The Jews therefore follow an evil plan aiming at destroying Al-Aqsa with minimum loss. They launch massive media campaigns speaking openly about their tunnels, leaking to thepress and TV channels some pictures ascertaining the existence of tunnels near Al-Aqsa Mosque. By doing so, they have many objectives, on top of which are perhaps the following two.
Jews Dope Muslims
Why do Jews think of wrecking Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular, and why do they stir the anger of the Muslim Ummah? Is it not enough for them to occupy the whole land of Palestine? The first objective is to get Muslims used to hearing about the destruction of Al-Aqsa: They believe that the more Muslims hear about this matter, the more they would get used to the idea. In case they actually succeed in wrecking Al-Aqsa, they think that Muslims will not show a strong reaction. This resembles the process of vaccination: A vaccine is preparation of a weakened or dead pathogen, such as a bacterium or virus, or of a portion of the pathogen's structure that when taken stimulates antibody production or cellular immunity against the pathogen, but is incapable of causing severe infection. Similarly, Jews vaccinate Muslims with news of the gradual steps taken for destroying Al-Aqsa so that when they actually destroy it one, two or ten years later, Muslims would not be as furious as they would be in normal conditions, and in that way they think they would be safe.
Jews Gauge Muslims' Reaction
The second objective is gauging Muslims' reaction when the matter is raised. In fact, Jews are afraid of Muslims' reaction, which might lead to ending the Jewish existence in Jerusalem and even in Palestine altogether. They therefore gradually leak news to the
media in order to gauge Muslims' reactions in Palestine, in the Arab and Muslim World, and also elsewhere. To do so, they employ the most advanced techniques to measure the public opinion through which they can accurately predict Muslims' reaction in case Al-Aqsa is actually destroyed. If the reaction predicted is found to be too strong to be controlled, they would postpone the date; otherwise, they would dare try to wreck it being assured of their safety.
Muslims to Show Furious Reaction
Accordingly, Muslims are required to show a furious, even exaggerated, reaction that would serve as a deterring factor for Jews and that might oblige them to put off or cancel their plans. Without such a reaction, Jews will be overwhelmed by the obsession of wrecking Al-Aqsa until it turns into a reality.
A question arises here: why do Jews think of wrecking Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular, and why do they stir the anger of the Muslim Ummah? Is it not enough for them to occupy
As a matter of fact, there is nothing called the Haykal at all. In fact, there is no scientific evidence at all supporting the existence of such a Jewish legend.the whole land of Palestine? Why do they also think about wrecking Al-Aqsa?
They currently claim that they are searching for the so-called the Haykal (Third Temple) under the Dome of the Rock, and manage to direct Muslims' attention toward the process of predicting the site of their Haykal, i.e. whether it is really under Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the Dome of the Rock, over the Haykal mountain or elsewhere as suggested by researchers and analysts.
The Legend of the Haykal
As a matter of fact, according to my absolute personal conviction, there is nothing called the Haykal at all. In fact, there is no scientific evidence at all supporting the existence of such a Jewish legend. In this regard, the interpolated Torah may not stand as evidence, for indeed the Jews write down, with their own hands, something which they claim to be divine writings, and then they say, "This is from God" to acquire a trifling gain.
Likewise, it is well-known that Al-Aqsa is very old and was built only 40 years after the Ka`bah had been built. Abu Dhar Al-Ghifari narrated that he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah, which was the first mosque to be built on earth?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Al-Masjid Al-Haram [the Sacred Mosque]." Abu Dhar again asked, "Then which was next?" He said, "It was Al-Aqsa Mosque." Abu Dhar then asked, "How long was the time [between both]?" The Prophet said, "40 years" (reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim).
Scholars differ over the exact date of building the Ka`bah and consequently Al-Aqsa. Anyway, it is very ancient and might have been built by angels, by Adam, or by Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him). Either way, Al-Aqsa was surely there during the lifetime of Prophet David and Prophet Solomon (peace be upon them both), as a house of worship for monotheists and believers. It is therefore unreasonable that David and Solomon leave such a sanctuary to build another neighboring place of worship. However, An-Nasa'i, Ahmad, and Ibn Majah reported on the authority of `Abdullah ibn `Amr ibn Al-`Aas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
"After Solomon, the son of David finished the construction of Bayt Al-Maqdis (alternative for Al-Aqsa Mosque), he asked Allah for three things…" (Al-Nasa'i, Ahmad, and Ibn Majah)
In fact, this hadith deals with Solomon's renovation of Al-Aqsa that had been built many years earlier. In any case, the hadith clearly indicates that Solomon contributed to the construction of Bayt Al-Maqdis and not to that of a certain Temple. In fact, we tend to consider the hadith of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for more credibility than the interpolated Torah.
Nevertheless, we know that Jews will never yield to our argument and will not declare their belief if they yield. In all cases, power remains the only way to protect rights. We say it is our masjid (Mosque), and they claim it to be their Haykal, yet there is no evidence from historical records or current excavations. I think it is a dogmatic issue in the first place, and attaining goals is contingent upon sticking more firmly to one's beliefs.
Back to the question: Why do Jews want to wreck Al-Aqsa knowing the fact that there is no existence of the so-called Haykal at this place or elsewhere?
Al-Aqsa for Muslims Like a Flag for an Army
Jews know well that Al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslims is as important as a flag for an army. Flags in wars are usually given to the most courageous soldiers, individuals, or tribes, because the morale of the army is always high as long as the flag is kept flying, while the fall of the flag inevitably has a negative effect on the army's morale. In other words, killing any soldier whatsoever is meaningless if compared to dropping such a great symbol. Moreover, an army that yields to the fall of its flag usually ends up with complete surrender.
Similarly, Jews expect that wrecking Al-Aqsa would cause Muslims' morale to sink low, and by that Jews could crush any sort of resistance in Palestine and any form of resistance to the Zionist agenda in the whole Muslim World. In this respect, we should not forget that Muslims lost heart for tens of years after the Crusaders' occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque during the early Crusades, something which Jews today seek to repeat.
Here a question comes directly to mind: Is it likely that Al-Aqsa will be wrecked?
